Sunday provides the best entertainment for the round - Manchester City host Tottenham, while Arsenal look to avenge for their 8-2 defeat earlier this season against Manchester United.
Norwich v Chelsea
Norwich and Chelsea are both coming off two consecutive wins and a total of 9 points from their last six league fixtures.
The Canaries left it late last week, but Steve Morison's 8th goal of the campaign nudged the side into the top half of the table.
Boasting a hat trick of successive wins in all competitions, the Premier League's new boys have demonstrated further intent as they have agreed to a fee for Leeds United midfielder and captain, Jonny Howson, however his move still depends on a medical. This comes after manager Paul Lambert expressed his concern at the club's challenge to attract players due to wage demands. Defender Ritchie de Laet has returned to Manchester United after a battle with injury, which eventually saw his contract cancelled.
The Blues have steadied and will be content to see Arsenal fall off their backs, while Tottenham become within striking distance ahead. Frank Lampard continues to prove his worth with yet another goal, which sees him join Daniel Sturridge on 9 goals at the top of the club's scoring charts. Joshua McEachran sealed a loan move to Swansea this week, while Patrick Van Aanholdt did likewise with Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch Eredivisie. Carlo Ancelotti has created unwanted tension around Stamford Bridge - the former manager suggesting he has been offered Fernando Torres at PSG, after the Spaniard produced one of his best displays for the club at the weekend. But the signing of Bolton defender Gary Cahill will be most welcomed at Stamford Bridge - the defender re-uniting with international John Terry to provide stability at the back for a vulnerable Blues defence.
Chelsea battled hard for their 3-1 victory in the corresponding fixture at Stamford Bridge this season, Lampard and Juan Mata killing the game off after Norwich 'keeper John Ruddy was dismissed.

Everton v Blackburn
Everton have recorded just one win in their last 5, while Blackburn climbed out of the drop zone with their second win in 3 games.
The Toffees were delighted to secure the services of Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson midweek, who immediately took his place in the starting line up in the 1-1 draw at Aston Villa. Victor Anichebe was the saviour with the equaliser, and may have given manager David Moyes a resolution up front. Landon Donovan continues to be the side's best performer in the handful of games he has played since his arrival on loan.
A character building 3-1 victory at home against Fulham made all the more remarkable for Steve Kean's men after key forward Yakubu was sent off after 22 minutes. Despite going down to ten men, manager Kean persisted with a front man by introducing David Goodwillie, which proved to be a match-winning move. And the Nigerian may find a little more competition for the No.9 spot upon his return from suspension - the Rovers are on the verge of signing Bordeaux striker Anthony Modeste. Speculation around Christopher Samba's departure continues to circle - Kean making it clear that QPR is the only club to have expressed interest in the defender.
Penalty conversions were the difference in the first fixture between the two sides at Ewood Park this season - Mikel Arteta signing off from Everton with a 90th minute conversion, after two spot misses from the Rovers for a 1-0 victory.
Prediction: Everton 2-0 Blackburn
Fulham v Newcastle
Fulham further demonstrated their inconsistencies with a loss at Blackburn, while Newcastle made it 3 wins from the last four with a victory over QPR.
The Cottagers travelled to Ewood Park full of confidence after dismantling Arsenal at home, but a no show from key players found them wanting against a 10-man Rovers. In better news, the club have signed promising teenager Jack Grimmer from Aberdeen, while veteran 'keeper Mark Schwarzer has signed a deal which will see him in west London until the summer of 2013. Strikr Moussa Dembele limped off injured last week, and looks set to remain on the sidelines for this clash.
No Demba Ba, no worries - the Toon were anticipating a gaping hole to be left in their front third with the departure of their Senegalese striker to the African Cup of Nations, but Leon Best filled the role with aplomb by scoring the winner against the Rangers last week. However, Best will have to be at his very best to deny new signing Papiss Demba Cisse from Bundesliga club Freiburg a starting berth - the Senegalese goal machine arriving to Tyneside on a five-and-a-half year deal worth in the region of £10 million. Midfielder Yohan Cabaye could miss this clash after being stretchered off last week.
Best was the difference in the last meeting between the two - the forward scoring twice to give the Magpies a 2-1 home victory.

Sunderland v Swansea
Sunderland have lost just once from their last 5, while Swansea extended their undefeated run to four games.
The Black Cats have revelled under Martin O'Neill, and could have extended the new manager's undefeated run had the end product been executed with more precision at Stamford Bridge. The versatile Craig Gardner has been an integral part of Sunderland's change in fortunes, his recent form dismissing any suggestions of home sickness, which saw him start slowly upon his arrival from Birmingham. Defender Michael Turner made his first appearance since November as a substitute after returning from injury.
The Swans were the toast of the town after defeating Arsenal 3-2 with a scintillating display. Wingers Scott Sinclair and Nathan Dyer were superb, and Danny Graham improved on his scoring record by netting the winner and his 7th of the season. However, the Wales side boast a dismal away record, only having won once this season, which is a complete contrast to their consistent performances at home.
The corresponding fixture at Liberty Stadium earlier this season saw a 0-0 draw, despite the Swans dominating periods of the game.
Prediction: Sunderland 2-1 Swansea
Wolves v Aston Villa
Wolves have not registered a win in their last seven, while Aston Villa have only managed 5 points from a possible 18.
Mick McCarthy's men faced a further setback midweek as Birmingham knocked them out in the FA Cup third round replay. The manager will be happy to have fixtures against Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham behind him, but a measly 4 points from six games has the Wolves on the cusp of relegation - only one point separating them from the drop zone.
The Villains doubled the amount of shots to that of opponents Everton last week, but could only manage a draw. Darren Bent returned to form with a goal to take his tally to 7 for the season, while Stephen Ireland was preferred ahead of Charles N'Zogbia and Barry Bannan. Robbie Keane made his first appearance off the substitutes bench after he secured a loan move from LA Galaxy.
A goalless draw was the end result earlier in the season, however Villa took the chocolates in the corresponding fixture at Molineux last year by 2 goals to 1.
Prediction: Wolves 2-2 Aston Villa
QPR v Wigan
Both sides are winless from their last 6 - QPR, now with new manager Mark Hughes, enter the dreaded relegation zone at the dispense of Blackburn.
The Rangers travelled to Tyneside in their first fixture under 'Sparky' - the former Manchester City, Fulham and Rovers manager unable to conjure a result in his first game in charge. Chairman Tony Fernandes has given the license to spend - Christopher Samba, Alex, Nedum Onuoha and most recently Taye Taiwo from AC Milan, all names circulating around the west London club. A fortuitous victory over MK Dons in the FA Cup may provide the much-needed momentum swing heading into the back end of the season.
The Latics went down fighting against league leaders Manchester City on Monday night. Hugo Rodallega was preferred ahead of Franco Di Santo up front, which signals manager Roberto Martinez's intent to keep the striker until season's end, despite the possibility of letting him go on a free transfer.
However it was Di Santo's brace that proved the difference earlier in the season - Wigan going on to win 2-0 at the DW Stadium.
Prediction: QPR 0-0 Wigan
Stoke v West Brom
Stoke are undefeated in their last four, while West Brom look to put an end to three-straight defeats.
The Potters were the seventh side to come away from Anfield with a point last week, which keeps them within five points of the Reds on the league table. Manager Tony Pulis has dismissed any speculation about VVV Venlo's Michael Uchebo joining the club after an unsuccessful trial period, which could well be the end of any further movement at the Britannia Stadium this January.
The Baggies continued their horrid home record with a 2-1 defeat to Norwich to remain winless in 2012. To add further insult, Birmingham rejected an offer for Liam Ridgewell during the week, but manager Roy Hodgson has not ruled out a second bid for the experienced defender. Hodgson also announced that prized forward Peter Odemwingie will not be for sale this January, despite interest from other Premier League clubs.
Stoke took home all three points from the corresponding fixture this season at the DW Stadium courtesy of a late Ryan Shotton strike.

Bolton v Liverpool
Bolton have managed 7 points from their last six games, while Liverpool are just two points better off in the same period.
The Trotters had the unenviable task of travelling to Old Trafford last week, which resulted in a 3-0 defeat. However, success in the replay against Macclesfield midweek earned them a fourth round FA Cup clash with Swansea at the Reebok Stadium in just over a week's time. Kevin Davies was on target for the first time in over two months, while Adam Bogdan continued to occupy the goal in Jussi Jaaskelainen's absence. Owen Coyle has taken Philadelphia Union striker Sebastian Le Toux on trial, but the biggest news of the week came when Gary Cahill finally sealed his inevitable £7 million move to Chelsea.
The Reds slumped to their seventh home draw of the season against Stoke City, as the alarm bells continued to ring for manager Kenny Dalglish. Dirk Kuyt's missed header in the dying minutes re-emphasises Liverpool's need for a player with killer instinct in the absence of Luis Suarez. Steven Gerrard continues to provide drive from the midfield since his return, but the lack of support from fellow midfielders leaves a legend again bearing the weight of the club on his shoulders in the twilight of his career.
Anfield played host to a convincing 3-1 Liverpool victory in the earlier game this season, however with only one win in their last five, the Merseysiders boast a run of form not too dissimilar to that of their opponent.
Prediction: Bolton 0-1 Liverpool
Manchester City v Tottenham
Manchester City remained top of the league with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Wigan, while Tottenham lost ground with a slip up at home to Wolves.
The Citizens have had to make do without the services of key players, which has tested their ever-talented depth. Steven Savic, although vulnerable at times, has stepped up to fill the void left by Vincent Kompany, while Nigel de Jong anchors the midfield in place of Yaya Toure, who is on international duty at the African Cup of Nations. David Silva returned to the starting line up and was busy as ever with his clever passing and movement, which included the final ball for Edin Dzeko's winner. Samir Nasri was lively before being substituted, and Sergio Aguero was prominent . However, a 1-0 loss to Liverpool at home leaves their Carling Cup chances in the balance.
The Spurs failed to capitalise on their chances against Wolves to lose ground and fall two points behind second-placed Manchester United. Gareth Bale was reasonably quiet, despite providing the assist for Luka Modric's equaliser. A total of 28 shots on goal last week is indicative of the brutality Harry Redknapp's men enforce on their opposition, but the execution up forward remains to be desired. Jermaine Defoe has been subject to a move away from north London, but the striker has re-affirmed his desire to remain at the club.
City's 5-1 demoralisation of Tottenham in the corresponding fixture at White Hart Lane this season is irrelevant to this contest, which should provide for the best entertainment of the round.

West Brom v Norwich
Norwich took home all three points with a 2-1 victory over a home-shy West Brom at the Hawthorns.
Midfielder Andrew Surman gave the visitors the lead minutes before half time when he accepted Wes Hoolahan's cross following a fast break for his second goal in as many games.
The Baggies levelled through Shane Long on 69 minutes - 6 minutes after he replaced striking partner Peter Odemwingie. The Ireland international converted a penalty won by Jerome Thomas, after he was fouled by the promising Daniel Ayala.
But 10 minutes from time, the Canaries broke yet again on the fast break, this time Grant Holt was the provider for Steve Morison to head into the top right corner for the winner.
West Brom 1-2 Norwich
Manchester United v Bolton
Paul Scholes started, and scored, as Manchester United went equal top of the league with a comfortable 3-0 victory at Old Trafford.
Trotters 'keeper Adam Bogdan was super in the opening period - first denying Nani, before pulling off a great reaction save from Danny Welbeck. But his biggest moment came when United were awarded a penalty on 15 minutes after Zat Knight denied Welbeck a clear goal scoring opportunity, only to warrant a yellow card. Wayne Rooney stepped up to be denied his second penalty in consecutive weeks - Bogdan guessing the right way with a wonderful stop.
The 'keeper received no support from his Gary Cahill-less back four and finally succumbed to the pressure just before the break, when Nani's deflected cross fell to Rooney, who found returning legend Scholes unmarked at the back post to strike home for a 1-0 half time lead.
Rooney continued to have an off day with miss-timed passes and wayward shots, but his slight touch on 74 minutes gave Danny Welbeck the lead to put United 2-0 ahead. Both assister and scorer suffered slight knocks, the latter substituted immediately.
Michael Carrick, with yet another stellar performance in midfield rounded off the win on 83 minutes when he accepted Ryan Giggs' pass, before curling his left foot shot from 25 yards into the bottom left corner.
Manchester United 3-0 Bolton

Tottenham lost contact with the leaders when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Mick McCarthy's Wolves.
The Spurs started brightly with a chance to Modric early, but it was McCarthy's men who took the lead on 22 minutes, when Steven Fletcher followed up a Roger Johnson header following a corner.
And Wolves could have doubled their lead 10 minutes before the break, when Matt Jarvis broke down the left and found David Edwards at the centre of the box, but the midfielder sliced a golden opportunity wide of Brad Friedel's goal.
The home side remained on top of play, and could count themselves unlucky when Gareth Bale's skewed shot was tapped home by Emmanuel Adebayor, however the referee's assistant controversially deemed the striker offside at point of contact.
It only seemed a matter of time before Spurs drew level, and they did on 51 minutes, when Gareth Bale squared for Luka Modric, who powered his shot past 'keeper Wayne Hennessey from beyond the box.
Despite his assist, Bale was unusually quiet, yet Redknapp's men continued to channel attacks through the star. And when he had the chance to curl home a free kick at the death, the Wales winger skied his effort over the bar.
Tottenham 1-1 Wolves

Despite a less than convincing performance, Chelsea recorded an important three points with a 1-0 victory over an impressive Sunderland outfit at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues took an early lead after just 13 minutes, when Juan Mata clipped a ball to the back post for Fernando Torres, who acrobatically side-volleyed against the cross bar - the rebound fortuitously bouncing off Frank Lampard and into the net.
The Black Cats were never out of the game, and on 65 minutes they should have equalised, when following a fast break, Sebastian Larsson squared for James McLean to miss the impossible from the centre of the box.
Martin O'Neill's men were super in the second half and went agonisingly close to finding a leveller, firstly through Craig Gardner, then a desperate effort from Nicklas Bendtner went marginally wide.
Despite a sub-par display, Andre Villas-Boas will be delighted with three points, and the long-awaited return of key midfielder Michael Essien, who made an appearance as a substitute.

This forced Rovers manager Steve Kean to re-shuffle his side, which saw midfielder Radosav Petrovic substituted for striker David Goodwillie, with David Dunn dropping back into midfield.
The Rovers held tight, and were fortunate when 'keeper Paul Robinson pulled sublimely denied Phillipe Senderos' header from close range.
And just before half time, the home side took a shock lead. Dunn won a free kick in a dangerous area - Morten Gamst Pedersen curled a left foot strike into the bottom left corner for a 1-0 half time buffer.
Rovers fans could not believe their luck when just after the break, Dunn made it two. Goodwillie's shot was well blocked, however it ricocheted to the midfielder to slam home into the bottom left corner.
But against his old side, Damien Duff pulled one back for the visitors when he accepted Danny Murphy's pass to send his right foot strike into the bottom right corner with plenty of time left.
However it only proved to be a consolation as Steven N'Zonzi played a lofted through ball for Mauro Formica to seal a memorable 3-1 victory being a man short for a large portion of the match.

Liverpool had just one shot on target in 90 minutes to record their seventh home draw of the season, this time 0-0 against a stubborn Stoke City.
Kenny Dalglish began with Andy Carroll and Craig Bellamy on the bench, despite not having Luis Suarez available due to suspension. However, Carroll was introduced on the hour mark for Stewart Downing to provide a presence and a spark in the final third, which was commanded by the Potters' for most of the afternoon.
The Reds best chance came when Dirk Kuyt put his diving header wide of the goal 13 minutes before time.
Despite never looking like scoring, Tony Pulis' well-disciplined troops were superb in defence to deny the Reds and scrounge a draw.
Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

Euro 2012 draw: England draw France, as past winners form the 'Group of Death'
The Euro 2012 draw is finally here, and what a tournament it poses to be. One host will be rather happy, whilst the other drew two European football giants. The 'Group of Death' presents three recent championship winners, with the World and European champions finding themselves in a tricky predicament. 188 days to go until one of the most anticipated European championships to date.
Group A: Poland, Greece, Russia, Czech Republic
Co-hosts Poland welcome the best of eastern Europe to group A, with Greece and Russia qualifying top for automatic qualification, while Czech Republic had to hurdle Montenegro on their way to the Euro 2012 finals. The lack of football powerhouses in this group suggests the evenness across the four teams, however Russia (12) and Greece (14) will be the favourites to go through on the basis of FIFA ranking. The two favourites are the only two from the group that have won the European championships since its inception, Russia as the former USSR in its inaugural competition in 1960, and Greece, in a fairytale story as the hosts in 2004. Poland will open the tournament against Greece in the historic Polish capital of Warsaw, while Wroclaw will welcome Russia and the Czech Republic.
Group B: Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Portugal
Group B will be touted as the famous 'Group of Death', with all four nations featuring in the top 15 of the FIFA world rankings. Group B will be touted as the famous 'Group of Death', with all four nations featuring in the top 15 of the FIFA world rankings. Coincidentally, the period between Euro '88 and '96 were sequentially won by three of the teams, Netherlands (1988), Denmark (1992) and Germany (1996). Portugal should not be discounted however, as they fell just short in 2004 when they played bridesmaid to hosts Greece. Fans will eagerly anticipate the mouth watering encounter between old rivals Netherlands and Germany, which will provide some pulsating football for the world to witness.

Bolton have only recorded one away win this season, and they face an uphill battle when they travel to White Hart Lane, which has recently become a fortress for visiting sides. Ivan Klasnic has been Bolton's best so far with 6 goals, with notable support from midfielder Chris Eagles.

Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers lauded his team after their 3-1 loss to Norwich last week saying his side was 'magnificent' and urged the team to keep persevering. The newly-promoted side has been able to keep four clean sheets this season, however they concede on average three goals in away fixtures thus far, nine of the twelve coming against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Wolves' lack of fire power up front and Swansea's fighting determination could provide for a tight contest, with Molineux the only variable seperating the two sides on paper.

Aston Villa v West Brom
Aston Villa finally succumbed to their first defeat of the season against Manchester City last weekend in a 4-1 rout. West Brom extended their unbeaten run to three games when they comfortably overcame Wolves 2-0.
Gabriel Agbonlahor has been Villa's shining light this season, the versatile forward scoring three goals in four home matches this campaign. Defenders James Collins and Carlos Cuellar have injury clouds looming over them, the latter rated a stronger chance to return to the starting eleven.
The Baggies only have one injury concern with midfielder Zoltan Gera continuing his stint on the sidelines. The choice to not operate on forward Peter Odemwingie's ankle payed dividend last week as the striker scored a 75th-minute winner to secure three home points for Hodgson's men.
The corresponding Birmingham derby last season went down to the wire with Villa prevailing 2-1, veteran striker Emile Heskey scoring the winner on that occasion.

Bolton v Sunderland
Bolton ended their six-game losing streak last week to lift themselves off the bottom of the table, while Sunderland have only managed one point from their last three games.

Striker Ivan Klasnic was left on the bench last week despite his bright start this campaign. Defender Gary Cahill will be January's number one talking point, however his side's defensive record is the worst in the competition.
The Black Cats were gallant in defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates last week. Midfielder Sebastian Larsson proving his worth with a stunning free kick in a goal of the year contender. The score line could have easily swung in the favour of Sunderland had midfielder Lee Cattermole headed home his point blank chance, a chance that manager Steve Bruce laments.
Despite being winless in three games, Sunderland's performances have not been at all poor by any stretch, which will challenge the home side looking to resurrect their season beginning with an all important away win last week.

Newcastle v Wigan
Newcastle continued their unbeaten run with a 2-2 draw at home to Tottenham last week. In contrast, Wigan have lost five in a row, the most recent a 3-1 defeat to bottom-placed Bolton, which places them only ahead of Blackburn on the league table.
The Toon came from behind twice courtesy of strikes by Demba Ba and substitute Shola Ameobi. Forgotten midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa was able to come on much to the delight of the Geordie crowd.
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez waited only 45 minutes before he re-introduced star striker Hugo Rodallega last week after a month lay-off with a knee injury. Defender Emmerson Boyce looks likely to miss again.
A Newcastle victory, and a result at Old Trafford between the league leaders could mean the Magpies end October as one of only two undefeated teams. The contrasting ladder positions suggests an easy win for Newcastle, however The Latics have had their fair share of surprises in the Premier League over the years.

Liverpool v Norwich
Liverpool return to Anfield this week lamenting the chance to close the gap at the top after a thrilling 1-1 draw last week against Manchester United, however Norwich will prove no easy beat having won three of their last four.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard made a return to the first eleven last week, his impact immediate with a free kick that put his Reds ahead. Dirk Kuyt worked tirelessly in a rare start, while Andy Carroll looked on from the bench. Star striker Luis Suarez continues to battle against racism accusations in an incident with United's Patrice Evra.
A brace from midfielder Anthony Pilkington brushed aside Swansea 3-1 last week, which sees the Canaries sit pretty in mid-table. The last month has been promising for the Premier League's new boys, their 2-0 loss at Old Trafford two weeks back the only loss in a hot streak.
Liverpool will head into the clash as overwhelming favourites as they continue to push for the all important top four position. Suarez has been lethal in his home appearances this season and is a hot chance to continue his scoring record.

Arsenal v Stoke
Arsenal have won their last three home matches, including a stirring 2-1 victory against Sunderland last weekend. Stoke have lost their last two on the road, however they still sit just above the north London club on the league table.
Arsenal captain Robin van Persie has lead Arsenal's revival with five goals this campaign, two of which came last weekend. Midfielder Tomas Rosicky has enjoyed more game time in the absence of Jack Wilshere, and the return of Laurent Koscielny means Alex Song can step back into his customary defensive midfield role. Aaron Ramsey started as a substitute after recovering from a hamstring injury, then scored the goal against Marseille which kept Arsenal on top of their Champions League group midweek. Defender Carl Jenkinson hobbled off with an injury which gave Johan Djourou a chance to perform at the vacated right back position left by Bacary Sagna.
Stoke left it late at home to defeat Fulham 2-0 courtesy of strikes from Jonathan Walters and Rory Delap last league start, with a Europa clash at the Britannia Stadium on Thursday night providing a hurdle in preparation for the Emirates on Sunday. Striker Kenwyne Jones could make his first league start after scoring midweek in his side's Europa League win.
The corresponding fixture last season was decided by a Sebastien Squillaci header early on, before the Potters returned the favour with a 3-1 victory at home.
Prediction: Arsenal 1-0 Stoke
Fulham v Everton
Fulham were brought back down to earth last week after their 6-0 thumping of QPR with a 2-0 away defeat to Stoke, while Everton could not handle a red hot Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The Cottagers were defeated 1-0 in Poland on Thursday night in their Europa League tie against Wisla Krakow, manager Martin Jol resting players such as John Arne Riise, Danny Murphy and Bobby Zamora for the weekend.
Everton announced the returning of James McFadden during the week after the Scot was shown the door by Championship side Birmingham. The 28-year-old bolsters a slim looking attack which has been headed by midfielder Tim Cahill in a lone role while Victor Anichebe continues to recover from a groin injury. Greece international Apostolos Vellios has made a claim for a starting berth with a goal off the bench in their defeat to Chelsea.
Both sides inconsistencies see them sit level on seven points apiece, the west Londoners with the superior goal advantage. Despite their midweek travels to eastern Europe, Fulham will look to keep their unbeaten home record in one of the weekend's toughest fixtures for the tipsters.

Blackburn v Tottenham
Blackburn's solitary point in the last three games grounds them at the bottom of the table. In complete contrast, Tottenham are flying with four wins and a draw from the last five.

QPR v Chelsea
Chelsea will travel to neighbours QPR in red hot form after dispatching Genk 5-0 midweek, while Loftus Road is yet to host a victory this campaign.
Rangers striker DJ Campbell will miss two months with a fractured metatarsal, joining Kieron Dyer on the sidelines. Manager Neil Warnock continues to manage the fickle Adel Taarabt, who came on as a substitute last start after reportedly announcing his desire to leave.
Chelsea will be delighted with the form of Fernando Torres who scored a brace midweek, while John Terry and Juan Mata played no part in the European fixture. There are no real injury concerns at Stamford Bridge with the increased depth acquired over the summer covering for injured stars Ramires and Michael Essien.
A Chelsea victory and a slip up by Manchester United in the derby will see the Blues move into second position, however Warnock's men will attempt to win over the home fans' hearts for the first time this season.
